OEM grey retainer (plastic button covering) snaps in place, is not secured- falls off.  RFT enhancement is screwed in place to secure the retainer to the case.OEM case cracks and splits under pressure at 180° of rotation, vs. RFT enhancement at 270°.  RFT case is made from a thicker mold and more durable material.OEM headband pulls from case at 36 lbs of pressure, vs. RFT reinforcement sleeve at 68 lbs, preventing separation through added strength and support.OEM mic boom breaks from case at 5 lbs, vs. RFT reinforcement sleeve at 30 lbs of bending force, adding break away prevention through additional strength and durability.

OEM buttons/membrane do not relay switch engagement to customer when pressed.  RFT custom-designed tactile feel buttons “click” when pressed.

OEM red case retainer is glued, not screwed.  RFT replaces the case and secures the retainer with a screw, as opposed to glue, to increase durability and prevent the retainer from separating permanently from the case.OEM case breaks at headband/radio case entry point.  RFT case is engineered with a thicker neck, increasing strength to prevent the case from breaking at a vital usage point. To prevent rust and shorting between terminals from vapor and contaminants, internal printed circuit board is cleaned and sealed in a conformed coating.  RFT’s coating decreases the chance of future board damage by up to 92%.RFT case crown and wall thickness is increased overall, providing added strength and durability.  RFT mic boom is also thicker and more sturdy.

More robust housing, providing added strength and durability.Stronger, thicker 4 and 8 position frequency switches to prevent breaking, and features an audible “click” when changed.Rubberized switch cover boots are thicker, adding strength and durability.Conformal board coating to stop rust, oxidation and contaminants from increasing resistance/heat between terminals, which could shorten component life.

RFT battery lasts up to 67% longer than OEM, and lasts up to 400 minutes between charges, vs 180 minutes on OEM.
