POWERVAR power conditioners are an excellent way to protect your business from lost revenue and unhappy customers.
There’s nothing more frustrating than a computer system that keeps crashing for no apparent reason. There’s also nothing quite like the expense of downtime and unnecessary repairs. While your computer system is state of the art, the electrical system you connect to is not. The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) reports that the electrical system in North America is, on average, only 99% reliable*. In a typical year, your computer system will be exposed to 526 minutes of power quality problems ranging from disruptive outages to destructive voltage spikes. That’s nearly nine hours a year in which power problems beyond your control can disrupt, damage or destroy your computer system and interfere with your business.
In a 2001 study, Network Computing found that downtime in the hospitality industry cost $38.62 per employee hour.** In retail stores, the figure was even higher at $244.37 per employee hour. That means a single power disturbance can cost $1,000 or more – and that doesn’t count the ill will generated by unhappy customers.
RELIABLE POWER TO HELP YOU MAXIMIZE SALES
POWERVAR power conditioners are designed to be a low-cost solution to power quality problems where the added protection of uninterruptable power is not required. POWERVAR conditioners reduce system lockups and damaged hardware – reliability problems become a distant memory. Best of all, POWERVAR solutions generally pay for themselves in the first few months.
PROTECT YOUR SYSTEM – SAVE MONEY ON INSTALLATION
For many years, it’s been common practice to install special dedicated/isolated electrical circuits as a way to protect computer systems from electrical power problems. These circuits are easily identified by a special orange receptacle. Unfortunately, today’s computer systems don’t benefit much from all the expense and time consuming effort that it takes to install them correctly. And the unfortunate truth is that dedicated circuits don’t do anything to protect the computer system from problems that arise from an electrical system that is only 99.9% reliable. Once again, POWERVAR has an answer – the patented Ground Guard technology. With Ground Guard, you receive all the power protection elements found in our standard power conditioners plus special ground conditioning elements that make dedicated/isolated electrical circuits totally obsolete. And best of all, Ground Guard usually costs less than what you would spend on electrical contractors and special wiring.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
All POWERVAR power conditioners include an isolation transformer, a surge diverter, and a noise filter. This means your computer system will be protected from a complete range of power problems – from small disruptive power disturbances that frequently cause lockups, larger power disturbances that cause invisible internal degradation to integrated circuits, and from the large power disturbances that can cause immediate damage to computer hardware.
All POWERVAR power conditioners are tested to a standard called IEEE C62.41. This standard defines the worst case power disturbance that can appear at a wall receptacle. During this test, we subject our power conditioning products to a 6000 volt surge. We do this to ensure that less than 10 volts of that surge reaches your system on the power conductors and less than .5 volts reaches your system on the ground. This also ensures that the power conditioner itself remains undamaged in the process. You can use POWERVAR power conditioning products with complete confidence. They will protect your system even in the worst case scenario.
